Technical Requirements

In order to effectively use all of the ARTstor features, there are a number of system configuration requirements.

 

Registering

Registration allows you to use some of the ARTstor features that are only available to registered users.

To register, go to ARTstor from the UNC Libraries web site.
  • Enter the ARTstor digital library by clicking on the GO button.
  • In the login section on the right hand side of the screen, click on the Not registered? link.
  • Enter the required basic registration information - an email address and a 7 character password.
  • After clicking Submit, you'll receive a confirmation message by email.
With your email address and password registered, you can log in to ARTstor from any computer.
 

About ARTstor

 

ARTstor is a collection of nearly one million digital images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and the social sciences. It includes a set of tools to view, present, and manage images for research and teaching.

 

Levels of Access

Unregistered users can search, save, and print images, and can view the contents of public Shared Folders.

Registered users can save image groups, add comments to images, and register to view the contents of password-protected Shared Folders. Registration is required to download the Offline Image Viewer.

Instructor Privileges users can create Shared Folders and add instructor commentary, and can also create Personal Collections.
