Welcome!
Welcome to the Career Resources Libguide. I've created this guide with the basic notion that you'll use it to find information on companies that you might want to work for - or at least learn more as you prepare for an interview!
This guide is only as good as I can make it on my own, so I'd like to ask for your help. If you think I need to add a detail or two, or there is an entire section missing, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Use the comment links, or send me an email. Use the chat window on your right if you see that I am online. The more feedback I get from you the better this guide will be, for you and others who might not speak up.
Thank you!
Annie
Just beginning?
This link will take you to the results of a focused search in the library catalog. Use this list of books - titles and call numbers - to make a good beginning.
Finding Books
Search UNC Libraries’ online catalog: The Source. Using The Source you can identify specific books located here at UNC or search Prospector to borrow books from other Libraries.
Copy the location and the entire call number. To find the book in the Libraries, check the blue Library Locator signs near the stairs on each floor, or use one of the UNC Library Bookmarks to see where specific locations and call numbers can be found. Some of the locations include:
| MICHNR STACKS • call numbers beginning with A-F, 2nd Floor • call numbers beginning with G-Z, 3rd Floor MICHNR REF Reference Area, 1st Floor |
YOUTH (Youth Collection) 2nd Floor K-12 (Education Resources) 2nd Floor MICHNR GOV Lower Level MUSIC Skinner Music Library |
Most of the books in Michener Library are assigned a Library of Congress call number, which will start with a letter or letters followed by a number.
Library of Congress call numbers are arranged on shelves in alphabetical, then numerical order. The numbers in the second lines are read as decimals.
