Course Guide: ASLS 515

ASLS 515 - Library Research

Hello! Welcome to the guide for ASLS 515 Library Research. So there are videos (so sorry they're long!) and a handout and page for your librarian's contact information (that's me, Maggie. Nice to meet you!). The information in this guide is not comprehensive as to all the services and resources we have at the University of Northern Colorado Libraries for you. This information is to get you started. When you get stuck, that's what I'm here for - to assist you through the library research muck. All of us here at the University Libraries are here to help you succeed. So welcome to UNC (or welcome back), it is great to have you here! To see the ASLS Library Research Guide, please visit: http://libguides.unco.edu/asls

Meet Your Librarian

Check out this short video about Maggie!

Part I: Introductions

Hello, my name is Maggie Shawcross and I am the Health Sciences Librarian here at UNC. The video above gives you an introduction to the Health Sciences Librarian (formerly Stephanie Wiegand), services the library can provide to you, library resources that are important to ASLS students, and the library homepage.

As your Health Sciences Librarian, I am here to serve students and faculty with health sciences questions. I work with students and faculty in all health sciences programs at the University of Northern Colorado. Whether you're in an online-only program, a face-to-face on campus program, or a hybrid program, if you're a freshman or doctoral student, I'm your librarian. I'm here to support you in your research and scholarship needs. What does that mean for you? I am here to help you!

So what can I help you with? I help faculty and students with a variety of things that generally fall into the following categories. Not sure if I can help you with your question? There's only one way to find out - ASK! I am available by phone (970-351-1474), email, in-person or via Zoom.
