Getting Help with MLA9

Do you have questions about citing sources that are not described here?

Any source can be cited using MLA 9 formatting. Because MLA follows a container model that defines the work being cited, the author of the work, and publication information, all sources can be fit into this model with as much information as you have available to you. There are resources available to you that will help you format any source you use in your writing.

Get help at MLA:

The Modern Language Association maintains a searchable online version of their current style guide, and has examples and formatting guidelines as well as an "Ask the MLA" feature.

Get help at Purdue OWL:

The Purdue University Online Writing Lab (Purdue OWL) maintains a searchable, thorough, and up-to-date guide for MLA9 formatting, in-text citations, and Works Cited citations.

Get Help from a Librarian:

The librarians at UNC are experts in citation styles and paper formatting, and can help you locate and use resources for your paper, assignment, or project. Make an appointment to meet with one of our librarians!
