Open Educational Resources (OER)

Books on a library shelf with an e-reader displayed prominently. Text: Pressbooks Licenses. Are you working on a free textbook for an Open Educational Resource (OER)? The Colorado Department of Higher Education with the Colorado OER Council are offering seats on the Pressbooks publishing platform for OER works created by Colorado instructors and faculty (valued at $120-$400 annually). More details and application requirements are below.

Pressbooks is an open access publishing platform widely used by the open education community to adapt, create, and publish open educational resources. Publishing on Pressbooks will bring your free textbook or OER to the notice of many. Pressbooks is an excellent platform for solo and group authorship.

The Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) and Colorado's OER Council are offering a number of free Pressbooks licenses to Colorado instructors for the creation or adaptation of OER. This is a value of between $120 and $400 annually per title.

If your application is successful, you will have the support of UNC's Scholarly Communications Librarians as you publish your OER.

If you are interested in this opportunity, check out the Application Requirements and the Application.
