Data show that faculty use of low- or no-cost materials, including Open Educational Materials (OER), has a positive impact on student grades and course completion. University Libraries supports faculty and instructors replacing costly commercial course materials with affordable or no-cost alternatives. Schedule a consultation with a scholarly communication librarian to discover how you can get started reducing or eliminating the cost of your course materials or check out the OER 101 module in Canvas.
Join the University Libraries and the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects for a celebration of faculty research, scholarship, and creative works on Tuesday, February 21 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Pikes Peak Ballroom. The informal reception will offer an opportunity to catch up with campus colleagues while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The celebration will recognize scholarly works, musical performances, works of art and literature, grant awards, and other scholarship.
Please note: Faculty will be recognized based on reports from Faculty Success entries. Final reports for the event program will be run on January 23rd. Please update your Faculty Success entries prior to the 23rd to be included in this year’s program.
New Resources from the Libraries
We are pleased to announce campus online access to the New York Times. Access requires a personal account using an @unco.edu or @bears.unco.edu email. The subscription does not include access to some special sections, like Cooking or Games. When creating an account, faculty, staff, and administrators will have to “reauthorize” their access every few years.
University Libraries now provides access to the Greeley Tribune and Denver Post to the campus community. You will need to choose between Denver Post and Greeley Tribune access before logging in with your UNC credentials. There are separate access links for faculty/staff and students.
