“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.  ― Vincent van Gogh

I believe, wholeheartedly, that Mr. Vincent van Gough’s quote sums up how I view not just my artistic life, but my life in whole.  Being a wife and a mother of two teenage boys I still find the time to follow the calling of art.  I, actually, can’t imagine a life without some form of art in it.  And, for me, the more forms of art I am able to incorporate into my life, the happier I am.  Art is limitless for me.  I am in love with learning and trying out new mediums and styles of art, whether it be visual or not, so that I may grow, and expand on my capabilities, as an artist.  And every piece, of art, that I create has a portion of my heart and soul poured into it, and is connected, somehow, to someone else that I know or have known at some point in my life.

I have spent many of hours with multiple sets of chalk pastels and even more hours with several cans of spray paint, at a time.  However, I have never found anything that gets me, and my art envisionments, quite like acrylic paint does.  Acrylic paint is, and has been for 10+ years, my favorite medium to work with.  It flows when I want it to flow, lines when I want it to line, splatters when I want it to splatter and it allows me to have an endless variety of colors and effects.  I use a combination of acrylic effects (matte, gloss, metallic, pearl, etc.), in each of my paintings, to add depth and to create a type of movement that changes depending on the lighting and your physical position.

Within the past 4 years I have added, what I like to call, ‘Paper Art’ to my repertoire.  Each of my Paper Art works has anywhere between 2 to 100+ pieces of individually hand cut paper in them.  Some may call it insane, but I call it beautiful relaxation!  After drawing out a pattern, I use a combination of scrap booking paper, scissors, glue, acrylic paints and markers to create each piece of art.  Depending on the project, I will sometimes add in pieces of fabric, pretty feathers and/or sparkling jewels.  I really enjoy creating Paper Art, as it allows me to add a different type of dimension and depth to my art.

May the art be with you, always!
