Find books on the shelves

Where is this book located?

To find a book in the library, use the call number. The call number is the address of a book (or other material) and can be found in the catalog record. Here's an example: CV876.A64 2004

  • Call numbers A-F are on the second floor

  • Call numbers G-Z are on the third floor

Always check the location listed in the catalog before trying to find the resources in the library.

Still not sure where materials are located? Check out this video, or ask for help at one of the staffed desks.

How to use Prospector and Interlibrary Loan

What if the Libraries don't have my book?

There are two ways to find books not at Michener Library. You can use Prospector, which is an online catalog that searches libraries in Colorado, Wyoming, and Missouri.

If Prospector doesn't have what you need, try Interlibrary Loan. When you request through Interlibrary Loan, a librarian will try to find your book. All books will be delivered to UNC!
