Adrina Pawlak, Coordinator of Outreach in the UNC Office of Financial Aid, served in AmeriCorps before coming to Colorado. That helped clarify her passion for helping students navigate the college application process, most especially the complexities of financial support. In this session attendees will benefit from Adrina's training and years of hands-on experience as she shares the most essential elements of funding options.

Protecting Yourself from Fraud Online (2:30pm @ UNC Campus Commons 2204) iCal Google

Matthew Langford is UNC's Chief Security Officer, responsible for information security campus-wide.  This includes an understanding of online fraud in personal and academic communications and activities.  In this session, participants will learn how to protect themselves, their identity, and their money, online.

Ready to Rent? Tips for Tuned-In Tenants (9:30am @ UNC Campus Commons 2204) iCal Google

Brandon Houtchens is a licensed attorney serving the Greeley and Northern Colorado community, dealing with civil litigation, real estate, insurance defense, and transactional law. Brandon will share his expertise specifically related to renter and landlord responsibilities, including rental scams to watch out for, and how to manage fees, deposits, and renter's insurance.

Aims Financial Aid & Scholarship Basics (2:00pm @ Aims College Center 252) iCal Google

Beau Bienvenu is an advisor and assistant director in the Aims Financial Aid Office. His specialty is the FAFSA, completing it accurately, and with as little difficulty as possible. In this session he will cover the essentials on financial support at Aims CC.

Investing for Noobs (3:00pm @ Lincoln Park Library) iCal Google

George Hill is a financial educator with Canvas Credit Union. Come and learn in a friendly and approachable environment from a fun expert with whom you can talk freely and without fear. No questions are off the table.

Gina Jones is a Professor in the Accounting Department at Aims Community College. She has been a pioneer of service learning through the Tax Help Colorado Programs since its inception in 2008.

Steve Mitchell is the Coordinator of Aims2UNC, a program that simplifies the transition from earning an associate's degree at Aims Community College to earning a bachelor's degree at the University of Northern Colorado. This session will particularly appeal to current and prospective Aims students, but will also be of interest to anyone who wants to know more about this new initiative.

Laying the Groundwork for Retirement (11:00am @ UNC Campus Commons 2201) iCal Google

Cris de la Torre is a Professor of Finance at the University of Northern Colorado and regularly teaches the Introduction to Personal Financial Planning course offered through the Monfort College of Business. His session will focus on the basics of retirement and what you should know if you're at the beginning of your retirement-planning journey.

Homebuying: Where to Start (12:20pm @ UNC Campus Commons 2204) iCal Google

This session will demystify the shopping and financial processes of acquiring real estate. Brad Inhulsen, Broker Associate/Partner with Sears Real Estate, and Tonya Jenkins, Lender and Owner of Home Team Lending, are both UNC alums who are passionate about helping individuals and families achieve the goal of home ownership.
