Can't Find it at UNC?

UNC Libraries use Prospector, Interlibrary Loan, and the High Plains Library District to provide materials unavailable at UNC by borrowing from other libraries. There is no charge to UNC faculty, staff, or students for these services.

Prospector is a catalog of many academic, public, and special libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. With a single search, you can identify and borrow materials from these collections and have them delivered to UNC Libraries.

You will receive an email (and a text, if you are signed up for the UNC Libraries text messaging service) when your Prospector items arrive.

When you are unable to find materials through Prospector, submit an Interlibrary Loan request. You will need to log in using your UNC user name and password.

The Interlibrary Loan system will search for your item in a larger geographical area. You can request books, articles, DVDs, CDs, and dissertations. Because it is searching and requesting items from a larger geographical area, items may take anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks to arrive.

High Plains Library District (HPLD) is the public library system serving most of Weld County and parts of neighboring counties.

UNC students, faculty, and staff can get an HPLD library card at Michener Library! Bring your UNC ID, fill out an application, and receive a card. You can start requesting items immediately.

You can pick up materials requested from HPLD at Michener Library. When requesting an item in the HPLD catalog, select University of Northern Colorado as the pickup location. Delivery will take a couple of business days. Select "email notification" to get the most accurate notifications when your item is ready for pickup.
