The Owl is an excellent resource for citations using Chicago Manual of Style.

Searching the Catalog

Encore is the place to start to identify books, microforms, journals and other resources held in the Libraries' collections.

The collections in the Michener Library include numerous edited collections of primary sources.

Specific subject headings are used in library catalogs to describe primary source documents that have been collected and published. Here are some examples:

  • "--Sources"
  • "--Personal Narratives"
  • "--Diaries"
  • "--Description and Travel"
  • "--Documents"
  • "--Facsimiles"
  • "--Periodicals"
  • "--Interviews"
  • "--Correspondence"
  • "--Pamphlets"
