La Poggerina

UNC had a Comparative Arts program between 1974 and1981. It was housed in an old seminary named La Poggerina, 15 miles outside of Florence, Italy.

The progam's goals were to provide:

  • A direct and intense experience with the culture and history of Italy.
  • An experieince profound enough to permanently enrich each student's cultural awareness.
  • A bridge between disciplines traditionally seperated in the university setting.
  • The highest quality of education at the lowest cost possible to enable everyone interested to participate.
